With more and more speculation growing about who could be the next Benfica manager, who do you think it will be? - Quique Flores, Michael Laudrap or even someone else...

Man I keep holding out for Sven Errickson but I really dont think its going to happen at all so I think the next best thing would be Flores but personally the guys we got lined up to possibly come I dont really know alot about them.

O Laudrup adora o Benfica. É um grande treinador e é um bom amigo do Rui Costa. Não posso dizer mais do que isto..." - remata.

--------------------------------------------------------

so it looks like Michael Laudrup has to reply with his decision on being Benfica's next manager or not, to Rui Costa by the end of this week.
Article is also sayin that Flores will not be Benfica's new manager, he decided he'll be stayin with Fiorentina.

I hate surprises so this is driving me nuts Laughing i cant wait till we have our new manager, who ever it is. Hopefully its really soon.
I wouldnt mind at all if its Laudrup so i hope the answer is yes.

We just need a manager to start getting this team in order. Selling and Buying players and probably bringing in some new staff members. I just hope we find out who the new manager is soon.

I agree the manager we get the sooner the better we really need him to find us the players he wants .... from what I can tell buying AMorim may have not been such a good idea I think he is going to be wasted on Benfica and isnt that player to start but who knows.

Abola have said that negotiations with Laudrap are going well although we ain't offered him a firm contract yet. Ojogo say we are persisting in Quique and are willing to pay a lil more.
Record is also talking about Zico becoming the new manager, then again it also says Laudrap will make his decision on Friday...

...I'm confuzzled! Sad

Typical Benfica....Abola is now saying that Laudrap is a big possibility and that the manager will be chosen in no time but won't be shown in the Conferencia until LFV is back from Africa, which is Saturday.

Quique Flores quase fechado

Looks like Quique Flores will be the next manager of Benfica. Supposedly he will sign a 2 year deal and should be presented in the next few hours.

If i am honest i would of rather had Michael Laudrup, but Quique should do a mean job too.

Yeh every newspaper is saying that Quique has signed and he will be announced some time today then officially shown in the press conference on Saturday or Sunday.

I'm well happy, Laudrap and Quique were both manager's that I liked and hopefully Quique can bring a new life into this team. I read yesterday that Quique had already put 4 player's he wanted to sign.

.....Villa.....Silva.....Manny Fernandes.....Marchena/Albiol (if Luisao leaves) whistle

argh! way to go a-hole, i came close to wettin my pants there Laughing

Because, we all know Fernandes' situation, and Villa and Silva both want out of Valencia..but obviously the odds of them even having Benfica in their mind is like 1/1000000, on top of that im positive we cant afford them Laughing yeah so i was dreamin too hahha

Anyways, finally! Smile im pretty happy, i think he's able to do a great job with us! Hopefully he plays Freddy Adu ffs.

Also, now i'll be dying to find out who he has in mind for the 4 players he wants to sign

you mentioning Adu made me think of a quote i saw from him in a magazine i got earier. "I'm aware of Benfica's great history. The MLS is very new and obviously our clubs have no real history. Here in Europe though, teams have been around for so long they have rich histories. When i pull on that famous red jersey, I can feel this. Everywhere you go, the fans follow you, even to different countries! It's crazy like nothing i've seen before"

damnit, he seems to really love benfica Sad

Next Benfica Manager? Empty Quique Flores já está em Lisboa

Post by DeJesus5 Sat May 24, 2008 3:23 am

maisfutebol.pt wrote:
